Sorry for the silence this summer. My hands are so full right now because of weekend summer outings. I must catch up on my 40hr workweek from Monday to Friday so that I don’t have to work (or work less) on weekends to enjoy our summer activities.
I have yet to post a lot of our family adventures this summer. We’ve already had 4 outings and 1 more to go for this summer of 2013. It’s actually starting to rain but we’ve got to make the most of Kelsea’s vacation before school starts again in June.
So moms, how did you spend Mother’s Day? Did you receive lots of surprises, ate in your favorite restaurant or headed to your dream destination?
I spent “our” special day with my family and invited both side of the families to join us. Unfortunately, my in-laws want to take a rest at home because of the usual busy week in their office. So off we went to Tagaytay with only my side of the family.
We wanted to stay away from the malls and enjoy Tagaytay’s cool breeze. As expected, it was very traffic along the main road of Tagaytay. We decided not to dine in a posh resto and instead had lunch at JT’s Manukan since we all love inasal and my dad’s an Ilonggo. Sad to say, this branch didn’t meet our expectations with their service. They had their reasons. I guess it was just not a good day for them (and for us as well). Maybe it will be a better experience the next time around. I want to give them another chance 🙂
Just in case you want to eat inasal in Tagaytay, here’s their menu:
The next and last stop was at Bag of Beans. I so love this place!

It was a only a small cafe before but it is now a full-blown restaurant. What I like about Bag of Beans is it’s very close to nature. You can choose from their different dining area indoors or outdoors.

Kids can also enjoy their pet birds and the swing 🙂

The ambiance of this great place comes with great food 🙂 Check out their menu.
They also serve all-day breakfast, pies and kiddie meals. If you’re into filling more your tummies, they have breakfast and lunch buffet (around Php300-500) as well.

Since we already had lunch, we just had dessert and coffee. Bag of Beans has the best blueberry cheesecake I’ve ever tasted.

If you want to take home their coffee beans and some pastries, you can buy from their pastry shop.
That’s my mom. Bumili for sure LOL! |
Coffee, coffee and more coffee |
Of course, a Mother’s Day visit here won’t be complete without pictures of the three moms 🙂
