Moms, do think our kids are safe in this world of ours? Or to be more exact – in our own homes or neighborhood? Our kid’s safety is one of our top priorities and it would be more ideal to teach them safety measures in this crazy world.
But how do we teach them?
Here’s a guest blog post by Rhea Del Coro of Applabs Digital Studios Inc. about a free downloadable application on safety and presence of mind for our kids. Playing games like this can be fun and educational 🙂
Numerous mishaps happen almost every day in all parts of the world. We can watch, listen, and read those regularly all over the news in which such information is quite difficult to digest. Predicting an accident is impossible that is why it is best if we will look for proper prevention.
For instance, a nearby fire in the neighbourhood occurred where residents burned their homes while some children were trapped inside the house. There is terror on the faces of the victims who are shocked by what happened. Fortunately, no one was hurt because of the fast response of the rescuers.Â
The officials released an initial report in which one family left the gas stove open causing the whole fiasco. Set of media personnel came to interview the homeless residents who stated that everything is unexpected. They were too helpless during the whole situation causing them to panic.
In times like this, what are the things that we need to do? Do we panic, scream, or run like unfamiliar youngsters every time there is an undesirable situation? What if the rescuers were late? Are we going to wait and rest our fate to them?
This example clearly shows how important presence of mind is to people especially to children. Fresh minds are in their exploring stage that is why they do not know the looming dangers that are about to come- they are the easiest target. Undesirable scenarios like slipping on wet floors, meeting a stranger that offers candy, seeing stray dogs along the way or catastrophic incidents are still unfamiliar to children.
Giving children proper education about vigilance will help them cope up with the dangerous world they are living in today. Maddie and Matt’s Safe World are here to develop their confidence and alertness in a unique manner.Â
