A day or two after New Year’s Day was the day of us feeling rich π It was the time to open our milk coin bank and count all the coins we saved for the previous year. Savings from this automatically goes to our home, may it be for exterior or interior part of our home.
Β
Last 2011, we were able to save as much as Php10,000 using two milk cans. We used that money for our landscape. We just added a few thousands.
Hubby and I were excited to count last year’s savings. Since we only used one milk can, it must be less than what we saved last 2011. Here’s how we did the counting….
We segregated the coins according to amount.. 25 cents, 1 peso-coins, 5 peso-coins and 10 peso-coins.
Β After getting all the coins from the can and segregating, you can see that most are 5-peso and 1-peso coins.
We then grouped each denomination in 10s (feeling nasa Casino lol!) so that we will not be lost in track when counting.
Then, we putΒ mostly 100pcs of each denomination in a plastic which we got from the bank and labeled them.

When Khan and I were starting, we were able to buy a lot for the house because of “oinky”. That includes aircon, tv, electric stove and other small things for the house. But now that we have Akira, we use oinky to buy gasul. Haha. Hindi na makahintay ng ilang months bago iopen.
See you on the 10th, Erl!

Hi Erl! I really think I should try saving up like this. Those loose coins can really be put to good use after a yr of savings. π

Hi Peachy! Yes, try it! Me and hubby kasi don’t like carrying too much coins in our pockets or in my bag. Ang bigat bigat hehe. So they go straight to our bank in the house π We also have a smaller version of this for Kelsea. She was able to save 600+ pesos. I’ll blog about it din soon.
