What is a takoyaki? According to Wikipedia, “Takoyaki is a ball-shaped Japanese snack made of a wheat flour-based batter and cooked in a special takoyaki pan. It is typically filled with minced or diced octopus, tempura scraps (tenkasu), pickled ginger, and green onion.Takoyaki are brushed with takoyaki sauce, a sauce similar to Worcestershire sauce, and mayonnaise. The takoyaki is then sprinkled with green laver (aonori) and shavings of dried bonito (katsuobushi).
I’ve tasted a lot of takoyakis from restos and mall kiosks and so far the best I’ve ever tasted is from Saibachi in Festival Mall, Filinvest, Muntinlupa City.

These 3-balls of takoyaki costs only Php25. Very cheap huh? Unlike siomai which is more expensive nowadays. This is my favorite snack among the likes of squid balls and dimsum. I can finish two servings of this! 🙂
