One Sunday morning, Kelsea and I were reminiscing her Kindermusik summer class she attended two years ago. They had an activity wherein they made colorful fishes made of a small paper plate and cut-outs of colorful art paper. We decided to do it again so I prepared the following materials:
- Paper plate (big or small)
- Art paper, construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Pencil or pen (for outlining)
I already cut a pie-shape from the paper plate to let her attach it as the fish’s tail. It was supposed to be placed opposite the area that was cut but she placed it on that same area it came from.
So, we decided not to make a fish anymore but a face. We used the pie-shape as a party hat for the face we will be doing. I prepared cut-outs of eyes (can’t find our wiggly eyes), nose and mouth. Kelsea was the one telling me what shape and what color to use. Her wish is my command 🙂 I also made strands of wavy hair, hair ribbons and different circle cut-outs to decorate the party hat.
Here is the finished product after she pasted them all….

She only wanted to put one hair cut-out on each side lol! And wanted to put a popsicle stick as a handle. I think we’ll be doing more of this paper plate project 🙂
