Last week, there was a note in Kelsea’s diary that the school’s Bible Month Culminating Day is on Aug 30. I didn’t know what kind of celebration it will be and didn’t know who will be participating so I didn’t mind that reminder. Then yesterday, there was a new note (which I was only able to read around 6:30pm since I attended a seminar) that the Nursery and Kinder class must arrive in school at 12:30pm on that day and must be in formal dress for the girls while long sleeves with tie and slacks for the boys. Kasali pala sila!!! It was such a short notice. I seldom buy formal dresses for Kelsea so almost all her dresses are too little for her already. But luckily, the dress her ninang gave her still fits. No need to buy 🙂
It was Kelsea’s first school presentation. I must be there. Here’s her pose before we leave for school…
Ready to perform |
Since the 3rd week of June, her dad was the one bringing her to school and I fetch. This time around, it was the two of us again going to school while the dad went to the office. She became clingy again.
Mommmyyyyyyyyyyy….. |
She wanted me to just stay by her side and didn’t even joined the rehearsal. Is it because there were too many people (other parents) in the classroom? As much as I want to be by her side, I can’t. So, I kept telling her that she’ll do great and I’ll just be around and watch her performance to take pictures and video. She was still crying when I left the classroom to go to the auditorium together with the other moms.
I know Kelsea. She’s like that from the start but eventually loosen up and feel comfortable again with the people around her. When the kids arrived at the auditorium, she was not crying anymore and I saw her listening to the teacher’s instructions and talking happily with her classmates.
The Nursery class were the first ones to perform. They sang a praise song with actions and recited the Lord’s Prayer with actions too.
The performance… |
Here’s part of the video I took…
Watching her not having stage fright and making the actions made me really proud. I’m sure her classmates’ parents were proud too. I only used my cellphone camera and video so some pics were a little blurry. Gotta buy a camcorder or a new camera and not miss performances like this!
The other grade levels also performed well. We didn’t finished all the other presentations. Instead, the mommies brought the kids outside the auditorium and let them run, play and have fun with each other.
Kelsea and classmates |
I saw from their faces that they really had fun presenting on stage and playing with their classmates 🙂 It was an event that exposed kids to perform in front of other people for them to build their confidence.
