Guess what’s in our mail today? In a few days, I’ll be another year wiser. It was a package from my dearest thoughtful cousin Manang Shel in Bacolod. (Note: Manang is a Visayan term for ‘ate’ in Tagalog or ‘older sister’ in English). I knew at once it’s because of my special day.
Here’s what’s inside that package:
Birthday Card |
It is a hand-made birthday card with a cute heart embellishment in front. The card is made from recycled paper. And inside that card are birthday greetings from my dearest relatives in Bacolod. They are so sweet!
Going back to that heart thingy, when removed, it is a lightweight pendant to a necklace attached to that card. Here’s what it looks like when detached…
Necklace |
And that’s not all, they have a gift for me!
Wallet |
It is a hand-woven wallet made from recycled paper. Very eco-friendly! Last time I saw it in Bacolod was at the ANP Showroom, a pasalubong place where you can buy their local delicacies, home decor, accessories, shirts and lots of souvenirs.
Want to buy that kind of wallet? You may find it and others of that kind at:

I’ve seen bags made of those and I would also like to have one someday 🙂 Maybe when we take a vacation there again.
Thanks for the advance gift! Love it!
