There’s a new ice cream brand in town…it’s Magnum Ice Cream!
Some friends from Facebook said that it is a must-try. So I did. Three days before my dad was confined, he and I had a quick lunch in 7-11 after his Annual Physical Exam (APE). Magnum Ice Cream was being sold there for Php60.00! I thought it was only Php50.00? Well, anyway, I want to taste this latest fad and let my taste buds judge if it justifies the price.
I chose the Chocolate Truffle flavor of Magnum Ice Cream. Other flavors available in the Philippines are the Classic and Almond. Magnum Ice Cream is a brand of Unilever, which owns Selecta. At first I thought it is locally made but learned that it is an imported one.
Latest talk of the town |
Before opening, I kept wondering what’s so special about this ice cream. I initially compared it to Pinipig Crunch. Same ice cream on stick and chocolate-covered.
Nice wrapper |
The differences are…it is bigger in size, thicker chocolate coating and ice cream is milkier. I love the truffles inside and even teased my Dad about it. He loves ice cream but he can’t try it due to his cough.
Gotta take a picture before it melts |
After a few seconds, what’s left of the belgian chocolate coated chocolate ice cream with truffles is….
Yum! |
Wow, there goes my Php60.00! It was rich in taste. I bet Mark will love this or the Almond flavor since he likes nuts. But for me, I thinks it’s too expensive. I love eating ice cream in a cup to slowly enjoy it and not eat it fast because it’s already dripping.
I wonder if Magnum Ice Cream is here to stay. But if they’ll bring this flavor here….
Magnum Mint |
I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one! 🙂
