Let’s talk about home! As a backgrounder, we don’t have a fence yet since it will cost a lot of money. So, we do our home improvement little by little depending on our budget. Our project now is our driveway and walkway. Thanks to my clients, funds from my earnings as a part-time real estate agent (which will soon need to get a license in PRC – I’ll post a different story on this) were used for the construction. These two are our latest project because of the rainy season. Every time it rains, it always gets muddy around the house. Not to mention the tall grass that grows around which sometimes make our property look like we’re living in a forest LOL.
Our driveway was just finished so goodbye to tires getting stuck in the mud and walking on soft land soil and getting our shoes dirty. We didn’t use any tiles but instead used cement and gravel on the grid design we preferred. I just learned that having a driveway/garage made is very costly because of the need to use iron bars for support.
Next in line is the pathway from our tiled porch to our front property line.Initially, we chose irregularly cut stones to be used. But the finished product didn’t satisfy our taste. It actually didn’t match the finishing of our driveway and our porch. So now, we decided to replace it with bricks. This was the inspiration but with a straight orientation:
I also saw this online and hopefully wanted to find someone selling these solar-powered sun brick to spice up the walkway:
Unfortunately, I can’t find someone selling these. And maybe it’ll cost too much. We’ll just settle for the simpler ones. We’ll use the rectangular-shaped and the square-shaped bricks. Mark and I decided to make some draft designs of the brick layout we want. Here they are:
Can you guess what’s written on the last layout? LOL! We’ll have the walkway done on Sunday. I’ll just post the finished product and the cost of these projects in a few days 🙂
