Dora Lenticular Puzzle |
According to Wikipedia, “Lenticular printing is a technology in which a lenticular lens is used to produce images with an illusion of depth, or the ability to change or move as the image is viewed from different angles.”
I bought Kelsea a Dora lenticular puzzle in Toys R Us – Alabang Town Center (ATC). It has 24pcs with 12inx9in dimension for each puzzle piece. She was so excited to play with it so I taught her at once how to complete a puzzle. At first, she was having a hard time but she kept on practicing and always proud every time she finished it. I always sing “We did it!” from Dora after every completion. That makes her smile shyly. One time, I was surprised to see her finish it so quickly. I told her to do it again while I time her. It was done within 5 minutes. A few days passed, I timed her again without her knowing it and guess what?!? She finished it in more or less 3 minutes. I’m so proud of her 🙂 She even wants to beat her record 🙂
And because she started liking puzzles, Mark bought these Disney puzzles for her at National Bookstore for only Php39.75 each.
Aside from being fun and educational, puzzles also build confidence and problem solving skills. It also enhances dexterity, sorting, visual recognition, hand-eye coordination and concentration skills. Based from experience on observing Kelsea, it gave her more patience in solving problems. At first she gets frustrated when any piece wouldn’t fit but little by little, she discovered that she just have to try another piece! When she’ll turn 3 in a few months, I’ll introduce to her more complex puzzles hehe 🙂
